Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt
Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt: November 27 – December 24, 2026
The Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt is one of the oldest Christmas markets in all of Germany. The ceremonial opening, featuring the *Christkind*, takes place on Friday, November 27, 2026.
Also well worth a visit—and highly popular—are the Children's Christmas Market and the *Sternenhaus* (House of Stars), the Sister Cities' Market, and the Nuremberg children's lantern procession.
Creating a festive, contemplative atmosphere are more than 160 wooden stalls decorated with red-and-white cloth—a look that has earned the market the nickname "Little Town of Wood and Cloth." Here, visitors can find Nuremberg *Elisen-Lebkuchen* (premium gingerbread), fruit bread, and the classic *Rauschgoldengel* (gold-foil angels). Numerous stalls sell the famous Nuremberg bratwursts—often served as "3 im Weggla" (three sausages in a bread roll)—including organic options. In the chilly temperatures, a mug of *Glühwein* (mulled wine) quickly warms you up. Of course, there are also non-alcoholic children's punch, white mulled wine, and regional berry-based mulled wine available.
New mulled wine mugs are designed every year; they are highly sought-after collector's items and make a lovely souvenir for your kitchen at home.
Don't miss the Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg; stroll through the festively illuminated Christmas city and take home unforgettable memories.
