DTM – Speedweekend
This year, it takes place from July 3 to 5, 2026. As always, the DTM is a three-day race event attended by well over 100,000 spectators from across Europe.
Nuremberg without the Norisring race? That is simply unthinkable. Since 1947, thousands of motorsport fans have made the pilgrimage to the Zeppelin Grandstand. Back then, everything revolved around motorcycles, as Nuremberg was the hub of the German motorcycle industry. The name "Norisring" was chosen following a competition in 1950. However, the rising popularity of the automobile led to a crisis in the motorcycle sector, causing the race's focus to shift from two wheels to four starting in the 1960s.
A lap around the Zeppelin Grandstand
The racetrack has undergone several changes over the years: initially, the course was two kilometers long, later extending to four. Since 1972, the track circling the Zeppelin Grandstand has measured 2.3 kilometers and features four turns. On the long start-finish straight, drivers reach top speeds of 245 kilometers per hour. A total of six different competitions take place here over the three days: the Deutsche Tourenwagen-Masters (DTM), ADAC DTM Germany, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, the NXT Gen Cup, the Prototype Cup Germany, and FIA Formula 3.
