Germany’s largest free music festival takes place from July 30 to August 2, 2026.
Every year, over 200,000 visitors flock to Nuremberg’s Old Town for the renowned Bardentreffen festival, which showcases a wide array of singer-songwriters and musical groups from around the globe.

Large stages are set up for the various artists at the Hauptmarkt, behind St. Lorenz Church, on the Insel Schütt, and at other locations. In the spaces between the stages and along the narrow alleyways, you will find numerous street musicians performing a diverse and fascinating range of music.
The festival’s musical programming rests on three pillars—traditions, trends, and experiments—offering a stage to everyone from "old-school" singer-songwriters to the new generation of artists, as well as musicians from the wide-ranging genres of contemporary world music and global pop.
