DTM – Speedweekend

Like every year, the DTM is a three-day race attended by well over 100,000 spectators from all over Europe. This year it will take place from 05th to 07th of July 2024.

Nuremberg without the Noris Ring Race: That's out of the question. Since 1947, thousands of motorsport fans have made the pilgrimage to the Zeppelin Grandstand. At that time everything revolved around motorcycles, because Nuremberg was the German center of the motorcycle industry. The name "Norisring" determined a competition in 1950. The increasing importance of the car then led to a crisis in the motorcycle sector, so that from the 1960s the focus of racing shifted from two to four wheels.

Around the Zeppelin Grandstand

The race track has changed several times over the years: initially the course was two kilometers long, later four. Since 1972, the length of the route around the Zeppelin Grandstand has been 2.3 kilometers and contains four bends. On the long start and finish straight, the drivers reach a maximum speed of 245 kilometers per hour. A total of four different competitions take place here over three days: the German Touring Car Masters (DTM), the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, the Audi Sport TT Cup and the FIA Formula 3.
